Batch Gimp
Command line interface to GIMP scripting which enables processing of entire directories of images. Batch Gimp can be used to create many thumbnails, drop-shadows, or any other complex series of GIMP commands.
Script-Fu (GIMP)
Script-Fu is the first (A TCL version exists now, also) GIMP scripting extension. Extensions are separate processes that communicate with the GIMP in the same way that plug-ins do.

The perl script can easily generate buttons for JavaScript rollover effects. You can also keep the .xcf files to work with them after creation. Since version 0.4.0 it is able to create the JavaScript and HTML code too. This version needs gimp 1.1.25 or later.
